Abstinence is really a gift you give yourself, and you must remember that you are worth the treasure.
Sexual involvement had seemed less a choice, and more a requirement of surviving high school. I remember finding out almost too late that it was abstinence, not sexual involvement that helps you define who you are. Later, I became passionate about sharing my revelation of the benefits of abstinence: freedom to live life with less guilt or fear, a strong healthy body, a more resilient mind, and more confidence to pursue one’s goals and dreams. Now I live in Chicago – a great place to be free and single – where I, among other things, work for Project Reality, a very successful and nationally recognized abstinence organization. Through my position there and my current title of Miss Kankakee County-IL, I have had the opportunity to spread the abstinence message to students as far away as Delaware. My main message to other young singles is to remember that abstinence is really a gift you give yourself, and you must remember that you are worth the treasure.
