I oftentimes think about my future husband and his face if I ever told him that I had given myself to anther man. To me it is like saying, “Sorry, but you were not worth waiting for.” I look forward to the day when I get to walk down the aisle knowing that I am wearing white because of my choice to stay abstinent.
The pressure to have sex rules the lives of teenagers today. Yet, despite what the world says, I’ve chosen to be abstinent for a number of different reasons. I am a firm believer in the Bible. God speaks and commands us to keep ourselves pure until marriage. He created sex to enjoy when two bodies become one, which is only reached through the union of marriage.
I oftentimes think about my future husband and his face if I ever told him that I had given myself to anther man. To me it is like saying, “Sorry, but you were not worth waiting for.” God has him picked out especially for me and only for me. A bride wears a beautiful white wedding dress to symbolize her purity. I look forward to the day when I get to walk down the aisle knowing that I am wearing white because of my choice to stay abstinent.
At age 16, I made a promise. I promised God, my parents, my future husband and most importantly myself, that I would not have sex until I am married. I made that promise in faith and am determined not to break it. I understand that sex is an awesome and very powerful tool. I know and believe that good things are worth waiting for.
